Spring Break has come and gone:)

So spring break has finally come to an end. Of course I am sad, but not for long because summer is almost here! I can not wait to head to the lake and tan (oh wait I will just burn like lobster). This past week has been pretty amazing to say the least. I had the chance to provide art activities for underprivileged children at the Salvation Army camp in Midlothian. The camp itself is very pretty for Texas and quite peaceful. My art activities were held in a chapel with windows covering most of the walls which created a beautiful view of the lake. This year the kids were so wonderful and I really did not have any problems! They all got so excited when I let them play with clay after their project which made me think not to take so many things for granted. Our projects included: making cowboy boots using oil pastel on old black dividers, coloring various patterns on manila paper to make Native American headbands, and of course using sidewalk chalk when the weather was warm enough. It was a long drive out there but it was worth the experience!
